Experienced one-to-one and online counselling based in London

Welcome to my counselling practice.

If you are feeling that life is difficult and there are areas of your life that you would like to understand better then it may be that talking to someone will help you to reflect on and manage your concerns.

I can offer a safe, professional environment to explore both brief, focused issues or for longer term work on deeper issues.

I am a qualified and experienced therapist, a member of the British Psychological Society and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

types of counselling

One-to-one counselling

Counselling involves us working together to alleviate concerns, develop awareness and reach a deeper understanding of yourself and your patterns of relating. Counselling is a process of self discovery through an accepting, trusted and supportive relationship. I would help to guide you to develop your own coping skills and resources. This can take a varied amount of time depending on the issues and the person.

I have worked with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, loss and bereavement, trauma, addiction, lack of confidence, abuse, unsatisfying or destructive relationships and other emotional and mental distress.

I have regularly worked with interpreters and can arrange this facility, if required, for an extra cost.

Trauma counselling

I am experienced in working with those affected by post traumatic stress and the associated symptoms such as hyper-vigilance and anxiety, sleep problems, feeling disconnected from the world (dissociation), depression, flashbacks and intrusive thoughts using a combination of body awareness, grounding and mindfulness techniques to cope with the physical effects as well as general counselling to manage the psychological feelings of trauma.

I have done training in a body based therapy that acknowledges the body’s role in the therapeutic process. During a traumatic event our body generates alot of energy to enable us to fight or flee. The body would naturally attempt to release this energy following the event but if this process is prevented then the energy is stored and can cause tension throughout the body often experienced as anxiety, sleep problems and digestive conditions.

On-line counselling

Email counselling can be very flexible. We would agree a day to send and receive emails  at a time that works for you. Emails would normally be around 1,000 words or one hour of writing. Additional writing is welcome for an increased fee.

Online chat is available to take place at an agreed time.

I use platforms that are encrypted and secure for the confidentiality and protection of client data.

If you have any questions about this, please get in touch and I am happy to answer any questions.
